About Black Tourmaline: Black tourmaline is the most common member of the tourmaline family (mineralogists call it schorl). It forms long, striated, three-sided prisms in granite pegmatites, often growing alongside feldspar and quartz just like this. Northern Pakistan is famous for producing lustrous, well-formed tourmaline clusters on their natural matrix — unpolished, and exactly as they grew.
