A generous 20 gram lot of natural Ethiopian Welo opal rough — about 18 to 25 raw pieces with creamy, milky, honey, and crystal-clear bases and flashes of color peeking through. Look for play-of-color in green, blue, purple, yellow, and orange, with occasional rainbow fire. Each piece is left raw and untouched, showing opal exactly as it comes from the earth.
The photo shows an example of a 20 gram lot. Each lot is hand-weighed, so the number of pieces, their shapes, and the amount of flash will vary from the photo.
About Welo Opal: Welo opal comes from the Wollo province of northern Ethiopia, where it forms in volcanic rock. It's known for bright, vivid play-of-color that rivals Australian opal. These are B-grade rough pieces, so expect natural matrix, fractures, and inclusions — part of their authentic character.
