A rare collector's specimen of blue Afghanite set in a natural matrix of white calcite and warm tan-brown minerals. Under a UV flashlight, the specimen lights up with a bright fluorescent glow — a standout piece for any fluorescent mineral collection.
One of a kind — you will receive the exact specimen shown in the photos.
About Afghanite: Afghanite is a rare blue mineral first discovered in 1968 at the famous Sar-e-Sang lapis lazuli mines in the Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan, the country it is named after. It forms in the same marble deposits as lapis lazuli and is prized by collectors for its blue color and its fluorescence under ultraviolet light.
UV Reactive: This specimen fluoresces under longwave UV light, and the calcite in the matrix may glow as well.
Metaphysical Meaning
Afghanite is known as a stone of higher awareness and clear communication. Many people work with it to:
- Enhance intuition: said to open the Third Eye and support inner guidance and psychic insight.
- Speak your truth: associated with the Throat Chakra, encouraging honest, confident communication.
- Clear the mind: believed to dissolve mental clutter and bring calm clarity.
- Deepen meditation: its blue energy is said to quiet the mind and support spiritual connection.
